Blue Cap Supporters Snatch up Hundreds of Auction Items

From toys for the kids to toys for the adults, attendees won hundreds of prizes

Blue Island, IL- More than 200 Blue Cap supporters enjoyed an elegant evening of delicious food, entertainment and auction deals this weekend at the DoubleTree Hotel Chicago-Alsip. The 2006 auction boasted hundreds of auction items including sports memorabilia, tickets to sporting events and unique Christmas gifts.

“I was amazed at the number of great deals there were at the auction this year,” says _, Blue Cap supporter. “We also enjoyed the Fortune Cookie raffle and the Heads or Tails game.”

The Fortune Cookie raffle was a big hit with everyone in attendance raising more than $2,000 for Blue Cap. Players bought 3 chances for $10 and, if their cookie was a winner, took home one of the 150 prizes up for grabs including a $1000 travel voucher. The winner of the “Heads or Tails” game took home $1,180, and Blue Cap received an equal amount in the split-the-pot game.

Bidders filled up their stockings with Christmas gifts for the kids and took home decorative items made especially for the Blue Cap Auction. Other attendees bought rare sports memorabilia such as a signed Bulls basketball and hard-to-find tickets to sports events such as skyboxes to the Blackhawks, Bulls and Sox games. One bidder enjoyed the evening’s entertainment so much that they bid and won the chance for a performance at their home.
