Unique items offered at 2006 Blue Cap Auction

Blue Island, IL- Blue Cap supporters are anxiously awaiting the agency’s 2006 Auction dubbed “Shanghai Moon.” The auction is just three weeks away slated for Friday, November 3, 2006. The DoubleTree Hotel-Chicago in Alsip is once again hosting the auction, and about 300 bidders are expected to attend.

“We have put together some fabulous items for the bidders this year,” says Moe Strom, 2006 Auction Committee Chairman. “Where else could you buy a bench made entirely of baseballs and bats signed by Ron Kittle?”

Sports items are always a big hit at the auction. This year bidders can pick up a hockey stick signed by Stan Mikita or sky boxes for the Chicago White Sox, Hawks and Bulls games. Some of the other unique items include a map of the United States in 1783.

Attendees will also enjoy a couple of new games this year. You can try your luck in the fortune cookie raffle with 3 chances for $10. More than 100 fabulous prizes are up for grabs, and the top prize is a travel voucher valued at $1000.

There is still time to purchase tickets for you and your friends. Tickets are available for $100 a person. You will enjoy a delicious meal, open bar, entertainment and the thrill of bidding on items in the live and silent auctions.  Contact the Development Office at (708) 389-8137 Ext. 303 to buy tickets or make a donation. Blue Cap is an organization dedicated to the discovery, pursuit, and achievement of personal growth and dignity for individuals of all ages having or at risk for developmental disabilities.
